Love makes a person deeply interested in as many details as possible about the one they love. This is most obvious at the beginning of a love story between two young adults: one wants to share as much as possible, the other wants to absorb every detail — and this happens in both directions.
A one-sided exhibitionism, where one places themselves constantly at the center, cannot be defined as love. Love, at the end of the day, is a celebration of the couple. It is not like a birthday, where everyone’s attention is focused on the birthday boy or girl.
If, however, you still notice a few concrete acts of love, they may indeed come from love. But it is a love that has only budded — one that cannot fully bloom. It may be a form of common grace love, or natural love — something found, for a time, in every human being.
