the diver

A diver is someone who willingly takes the risk of entering a world that is unfamiliar and often hostile. He is immediately struck by the pressure of the water pressing in from every side. He faces the danger of running out of air and may encounter creatures that threaten his safety. Yet, in the midst of these challenges, he also discovers the breathtaking richness of God’s creation, and he is awed by the depth of God’s creativity. The dive holds both beauty and peril—safety and danger, joy and deep pain. When he comes back to the surface, he is also impregnated with the strong smell of the deep. He is different.

So it is with anyone who commits to becoming a deeper diver into the knowledge of God. You, too, will encounter mystery and struggle—but also wonder, clarity, and transformation. You will also wear a pleasant scent of excellence.
