destined for greatness

Because we are made in God’s image, we are destined for greatness—not only in stature but, more significantly, in our capacity for love. This perspective should shape how we live. We must therefore use our lives purposefully, identifying our core project or goal and pursuing it peacefully, without hurry or stress. As beings who inhabit both this world and the world to come, we are “bilocal.”

My goal in writing this book is to clarify important aspects of everyday life. To ensure our time is well spent, we must ask ourselves:

• What is the purpose of life? Our raison d’être?
• What is true wisdom?
• What is love?
• What is spiritual maturity?

These fundamental questions rarely receive clear answers. We often feel we know the answers instinctively but struggle to express them clearly.
